Fayol on the functions and principles of management

Coordination fell off the textbook list, and it is exactly the one clubs lack most. Fayol wrote down five acts — forecasting, organising, commanding, coordinating, controlling — and was the first to say administration can be learned.

This breaks unity of command: the person does not work twice as hard — they start choosing which one to obey, and both superiors assume the job is done.
